Well all You have to do is find me a Wide Screen LCD Monitor and post the URL...
Im shopping for a new monitor try'n to get rid of 2 CRT's in one fowl swoop; I'v already gave a 3rd CRT to a friend...
(I'm not giving away anything or offering to; just making a point I'd like to make room)

Why Wide Screen?
I got some dvd's in that format and since HDTV type formatting of DVDs wither Blue-Ray or HDDVD there most likely all going to be just like the TV's wide screen...
So preparing for whats next; Also I'v gotton use to 2 black bars on my CRT with my current resolution 1280 * 720 (wide screen lol); on my HTPC it has gotton easier for reading long titles; I can now fit Arist/Album/Song without it ticking left to right. think about that; the stock market junkies will love that; "CSPAN IN HD"

Anyhow; why am I asking for your help? You might have experiance where I might not, I really dont know much about a few things but I'v learned alot these past few weeks in the technology of projecting a picture like these formats; Projecters, CRT, LCD, DLP, HDTV, LCOS, OLED and Plasma.

I would have gone with a HDTV but they dont get small enoff(lowest one from Dell 19"); faster response times(dell's one was 25ms); the contrast ratio's "how black is it?" or the cost ratio doesnt even compare with a widescreen LCD; well atleast not at the moment.

both video cards can achive the max res if i wanted; BUT too bad guild wars might not be able to... but hey i can play Doom3 and Quake 4 in wide screen (whoop de do) I didnt check if F.E.A.R. could...

Ill have to use a KVM switch but that isnt as big as a CRT keyboard and room for a mouse.

Well max resolution wide screen really isnt an issue; its more of response times and contrast ratio's. so far that one is the best I'v seen and it cost's less than any HDTV Dell or any other company has to offer; in contrast ratios and response times.

I was going to get a Dell HDTV W1900 but there where so many bad comments about how the TV part was crap; so might aswell be a full blown monitor, the one listed above would cost less

If any questions about technical terms that where mentioned please reply and I'll try and give you my best resources to explain it to you.

Mmm... wide screen LCD . Unfortunately I just dropped $800 on a new mobo/CPU/vid card setup for my computer, so my wife would gleefully strangle me if I made another extravagent computer purchase.

Have you tried outpost.com or mwave.com? Mwave is where I got my mobo package from. I'll do a little poking around and see if I can find anything.

I have Checked out those places; one listed it for a higher price, and others are barley comparable... I dont want to spend x2/x3 as much on a 24"/32", I cant even mount a 32" to this backwall...

You can get some high resolution plasmas, but I guess they have burn in. Disclaimer: I knew you specifically asked for a LCD.

I would like a plasma; xpet no where to put it really... so its got to be like 24-19"

Lol i wanna b a TV freak :S (seriously i do, i just cant find the "Special" in TV's) Also, i saw the news few days ago and they said the Govt is going to make all channels go Digital nd Tvs w/o HD will not b able to watch it, not tilll like 2010+ or something though...

2009 is when "local" channels will be taken off the RF(radio frequancies).

funny how the Gov. would have to make the TV industry change there standards.

I was looking around for a widescreen tft, in the UK, and I heard many many good things about the Dell 2005FPW. Its a pure monitor (ie no tv inputs) but its very nice. I know nothing about hdtv though.

I would buy one if I had the money

If you get one with a TV tuner built in you can use it as a TV when you get your next monitor
